Practicing democracy in El Salvador

“.. As a leader I feel so happy because I am in in good relationship with many people and we are united to achieve our goals.…. We used to fear to speak out. Now, thank God, organizing taught us to lose our fear, communicate, and expose the needs of our communities.” – Transito Noyola, El Rosario, El Salvador

This year, Transito and COFOA leaders led the fight to advance national legislation to clear titles on properties that were resettled after the war. They have won the support of mayors and legislators. Next year 100 families from La Galilea will have clear deeds on their homes worth $1.6 million.
